Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice

Last updated: August 27, 2026

This notice supplements the Lerin Privacy Policy and applies to residents of states with dedicated consumer health data laws, including the Washington My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370, and comparable statutes. Where this notice and the Privacy Policy differ, this notice controls for the data it describes.

What we treat as consumer health data

Lerinis a cosmetic skincare app. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, and it does not provide medical advice. Some of what it processes may still fall within the broad definition of “consumer health data” used by these laws, so we treat the following categories as consumer health data regardless of how they are classified elsewhere:

  • Face scan photographs you capture in the app, and the visible-skin observations derived from them, such as readings related to pores, redness, texture, tone, hydration, and shine.
  • Skin characteristics you tell us about during onboarding or in chat, such as skin type or a stated sensitivity.
  • The products you record on your shelf and in your routine, to the extent they reveal something about your skin.

How we collect it

We collect this data directly from you: when you take a scan, answer an onboarding question, add a product, or send a message to the in-app assistant. We do not buy consumer health data, and we do not collect it from data brokers, advertising networks, or other third parties.

Why we use it

We use consumer health data only to run the features you asked for: producing your skin analysis and score, building and updating your routine, matching products against your own profile, answering your questions in the assistant, and showing you how your own scans change over time.

We do not use consumer health data for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles for anyone other than you.

We do not sell it

Tarik Fatih PINARCIdoes not sell consumer health data, and has never sold it. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. No “valuable consideration” is exchanged for it in any form, which means no authorisation to sell is sought or required.

Who can access it

Access is limited to the service providers needed to operate the app, each bound by contract to process the data only on our instructions:

  • Our cloud hosting and database provider, which stores your scans, analyses, and routine.
  • The AI model provider that produces your analysis and assistant answers from the images and text you submit.
  • Our subscription and diagnostics providers, which receive purchase state and crash reports but never your scans or skin observations.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users, but we do not otherwise share consumer health data.

Your rights

You may confirm whether we hold consumer health data about you, see the list of third parties with whom it has been shared, withdraw consent to its collection and sharing, and request deletion.

Most of this is immediate and self-service: you can review and delete your data from inside the app under Settings, and deleting your scans removes both the photographs and the observations derived from them. For anything the in-app controls cannot reach, write to support@lerin.app. We respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need a permitted extension.

Exercising these rights never costs you access to the app, and we do not offer a lesser version of the service to people who do.

If we decline a request

If we cannot act on your request, we will tell you why. You may appeal by replying to that decision at support@lerin.app with the word “Appeal” in the subject line. If the appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General.

How long we keep it

Face scan photographs and their derived observations are retained on the schedule set out in the Privacy Policy, and are deleted at the end of it or sooner if you delete them yourself. Deletion is permanent; we cannot restore a deleted scan.
